A Weekend of Woolly Wonder!

So, I just had the best weekend ever! A bunch of us from around the area decided to hold a knitting camp weekend. It was amazing. An entire weekend of knitting, crocheting, spinning, eating, drinking and of course, quite a lot of talking! The whole idea was to just chill out, share some skills between each other and have a great time. And let me tell you people, I sure did!

Ok, so here’s some photos, because I am better at pictures than words:

This is only a few of the wheels. I loved how the cottage was empty at the start, and so quickly was

filled with yarn and fibre everywhere you looked!

Some talented ladies in action!

a plethora of dyes!

My first attempt at Landscape dyes…. more to come on this one!

My first turn on a spinning wheel!

A most amazing wheel!

And I even tried wet felting too!

Thank you so much ladies for an incredible weekend….. When are we doing it again?

Late Night Dying Adventure

So it’s 11pm, house is quiet, nothing is on tv, you had too much coffee to go to sleep yet and none of your WIPs are holding your attention. What do you do?

Pour yourself a vodka and orange and do a dye up naturally!

I had 150g of Cleckheaton Machinewash Crepe 8ply sitting in the stash that I had bought on sale weeks ago and it was just crying out to be dyed. I deliberated for about 20 minutes as to what colours I should go with. I initally thought purples, but I couldn’t mix the right shade for the moment so I tipped it out and went back to good old yellow. This time, a pale, more lemon yellow, accompanied by lime and white. Very pleased with results.

Not sure what I’ll use it for yet. But I’m very much leaning towards socks.

Wedding Crafting part 1

Ok, so I haven’t had a lot of time for crafting lately, I have been busy planning my wedding! It will be in september. But there are a few things for the wedding I am planning on crafting myself. The invitations, the the favours, place cards and probably some table runners too.

I’m still waiting on some supplies for the invites, but yesterday I played around with some favour ideas and I think I have found a design I really like. I used this tutorial and it only took about 5 minutes. I think I can handle making 40 of these easy enough:

So! A Blog Eh?

Hello! Seeing as I am still trying to figure all this out I’ll keep this short.  Hopefully I will have this looking good with lots of crafty goodness very soon.

A little about me? Well I’m a Mum of two terrors boys who keep me on my toes. L is 3.5 and T is almost 1. In what little and precious spare time I have I am usually crafting.  I can’t keep my hands still. I love Crochet, knitting, felting, VERY new to sewing, but already hooked. Anything creative, I want to do it.

So, Join the fun!
