Small WIP Tote Bag

August 26, 2008 at 5:13 pm (crochet, knitting, sewing) (, , , )

Amazing! I have done some sewing! I had decided I needed a nice bag to cart my WIPs around in when I am visiting, or travelling, or just for keeping them handy around the house. I dug up a basic tote pattern and added a little section for crochet hooks, circular needles and whatever else. The bag is made of cotton and calico, with a bit of interfacing. It was lots of fun. My sewing is still rusty but I’m getting better.

EB Fat Quarter Challeng FO #1

January 17, 2008 at 1:05 pm (sewing) (, , )

Today I unrolled my fat quarter and L begged me to make him something. I thought that was fair seeing as I hadn’t sewn anything for him yet. So I made him a little crayon roll, seeing as he loves to draw, and I always find his crayons strewn across the house.

He couldn’t wait to start using it. He even told me there was no time for photos! And of course, once it was finished, I couldn’t find any of his crayons anywhere!

My Second Bag

January 10, 2008 at 10:47 pm (sewing) (, )

Tonight I was in a bad mood. One of those days. So I took my grumps to the sewing room. Ahhh, personal space! I managed to make my second square bottomed bag, which is much better than the first, which I’m not showing :o P

I have finally used some paisley! I have always wanted some.

Circular needle clutch

January 10, 2008 at 11:11 am (knitting, sewing) (, , )

I’m a big fan of Craft Leftovers, and I loved her clutch patterns. So I made the circular needle one as well. I wanted to use white top stitching, but after the wonky crochet hook one, I decided to use black just in case. But then my stitching ended up A LOT better than the first time. Anyway, here are the pictures:

It’s wonky…..But I’m new

January 8, 2008 at 10:16 pm (sewing) (, , )

Ok, this is my 2nd ever sewing project. And I know the stitching around the bias tape is wonky, but it turned out it was harder than I thought. I unpicked it twice, and this i think, is as good as I can get for now. I found this cute pattern here: Craft Leftovers

All it needs now is a cute button.

Practice practice practice….
