Fantastic Festive Fudge!
Well it’s almost that time of year again! My goodness this last 12 months have flown by. Now, if you are anything like me, you are now at the point where you realise you have run out of crafting time, and you’re desperately trying to come up with thoughtful but quick gifts to give to family and friends. So I’m going to share with you a recipe of mine that I guarantee you will make more than once! It’s so easy you won’t even need to write it down. But be warned, this fudge is extremely delicious, and highly addictive!
500g of Dark cooking chocolate.
400g of Sweetened Condensed Milk
1tsp of coffee (optional)
Pour your can of sweetened condensed milk into a saucepan, and turn on low heat. Break up your chocolate into squares and add to the saucepan. Stir slowly until the chocolate melts into the sweetened condensed milk.
*note, try not to stick your fingers in. It’s very hard.
When the two are thoroughly combined, add 1 tablespoon of cold water and combine thoroughly. If you are a coffee lover like me, add a teaspoon of coffee to the water before you add it, for a mocha fudge bonanza.
When the mixture has reached a nice consistency, pour into a lamington pan, baking dish or rectangular cake tin lined with foil. Allow to cool on the bench.
*note, try to keep sneky little children’s fingers out of your cooling fudge.
You may now lick the spatula 🙂
After the mix has cooled and the top is starting to harden, stick it in the fridge until it is completely solid, about 2 or 3 hours should do it.
Now cut your fudge into squares and enjoy!
In previous years, I have added my fudge to chinese noodle boxes that I picked up in the bargain stores. But this year I found a very easy tutorial HERE for these neat little bags. So i have lined them with some greaseproof paper and filled them up with fudge.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, and Happy and Productive New Year!!
